Mindfulness or Meditation – Which Helps with Opinions?

I got an opportunity, a big one, to remind myself that another’s opinion of me is just that ,an opinion. It was their opinion of what I had done and what they thought of my doing it. My instant reaction was to feel hurt, this was someone important to me. Then I stopped and looked again. I reminded myself that this happened to bring up some old tired emotions that needed to be loved, accepted, allowed, forgiven, and released. I also saw this as a great reminder that even though the person is important to me, they were merely sharing their opinion of my actions and that’s all. They are not an expert online or offline on me. I am the only expert of me. read...

Reconnective Healing™: Energy Therapy with Results Part 6

This is the 6th in a series of blogs reporting on the scientific studies conducted with Reconnective Healing™ on plants and humans by various scientists including Dr. Gary Schwartz of the University of Arizona. The one thing that is very well known is that The Reconnective Healing™ frequencies are strong and palpable. They can be felt through physical sensations tests and they have also been proven to be real in double blind, randomized studies. When I signed up for the training, I really didn’t know much about Reconnective Healing™ or The Reconnection. I didn’t understand the differences between them either. I was contacted and asked if I wished to be part of a study being conducted by the University of Arizona. I accepted. read...

Expert Opinions?

Due to lack of time this last week, I couldn’t do the research for my blog series on scientific experiments conducted on Reconnective Healing. Yet life has a way of bringing things to your attention. Are you aware how often we judge? We hear an opinions about ourselves from another. If we do nothing, just listen to the opinion and go about our life, we are not judging. However, if we evaluate it in any way, we are judging. Mostly we are judging whether it’s true or not and depending on what was said, we either feel great or we feel awful. And sometimes we even get angry if we really don’t like what was said and can’t stand the thought that we are whatever was said. That is a lot of negative emotions. read...

Being Judgmental

A Facebook friend, Rowena Starling, wrote a blog last week about kids pushing your buttons and that you can desensitize your buttons so that you don’t react to the kids. Well, the last couple of days because of the holidays and a few other things that have happened, I had several buttons pushed that I thought were gone. It was interesting to see me reacting to them. I was judging my situation as bad. At one point I was ready to completely collapse into tears and I found myself looking at the emotions coming up. I realized I could collapse into the crying and have a self pity party or I could question what was going on in my thoughts to derail the pity train. read...

Mindful Meditation

Where do you spend most of your time? In the past, present or future? When we spend our time in either the past or future, we miss the present. Did you know that our mind can’t think about the present? Our mind can only think about the past or the future so that’s how it keeps us from the present. In order to be in the present, we must learn to still the mind so that we can observe and enjoy the present moment. Mindfulness meditation is a great technique to learn the art of being mindful. Take 15 minutes to walk what normally takes you 30 seconds to walk. You want to do this barefoot. If you do this outside, forget about what others may say or think. This is for you. read...

Easy Healthy Recipe for Boneless Chicken Breasts

Ok, we are truly spoiled. We live in California with access to amazing organic fruits and organic vegetables year round. We cook our dinners using the freshest ingredients as much as possible. The abundance of choices we have is huge. So with all this, I find we get stuck doing the same dishes over and over. Some days we want something different. I found myself in that situation the other night. We had boneless organic chicken breasts. I didn’t want them broiled, or baked or done with rosemary, white wine and garlic. I didn’t want chicken piccata, all our standard fare. read...
